Kansas Day 2011

Pancake feed in Hesston with family. Then home to play outside in the warm weather. The sun was so bright and the sky such a perfect Kansas blue. Ronni explained to me that God wanted the sun to be bright as a candle for Kansas' 150th birthday. She is amazing! And then the highlight of the day:
Kansas Celebration at Kaufman Museum. They had so much to do:
                                                                          Our Loot!
                                                    make your own birthday hat
                                                   sunflower pens
                                                   quilting craft
                                                    marble games
                                                    free cookies
                                                    make a miniature covered wagon
                                                    shuck some corn
                                                   candle making
                                                   old time pictures
                                                   guessing games
                                                   singing
                                                   horse and wagon rides
                                                   AND......
                                                        make your own medallions.
I'm sure I've missed something, but we were happily tired after 2 hours. Thank you for such a great day. Happy Birthday Kansas!

Snow day Jan 20, 2011

Ronni almost always asks the same questions every morning:
"Mommy, where do I have to go today?"
Today I got to tell her no where! It was a great day.
Made blueberry muffins for breakfast.
We built a huge train track and raced around it.
Played on Starfall for 30 minutes

Rested (no naps mind you)
Drew on big pieces of paper
Played tic tac toe
Snacked on the Puppy Chow we made last night
I made orange glaze chicken and noodles for supper.
Played Wipeout in the living room.
Ok, so it goes like this.
Ronni: Mommy make us a Wipeout.
Me: Ok, hang on I'll be right there.
     John David: WIPEOUT
Ronni: Thats ok Mom, we got it started.
I walk into the living room, couch is torn apart. Pillows in piles around the room, cushions in another. Both  kids on said couch jumping up and down. Ronni yells go and she leapfrogs from pile to pile to get the the lazyboy across the room. John David is laughing the whole time. When its his turn, he leaps from the couch missing the first pile completely, springs up and dashes to the same chair and they both scream WIPEOUT!!
Me: Cool, how about if we move the cushions closer so John David can reach them.
We clean up living room.
I ask Ronni to call Daddy and tell him supper's ready.
She does :-)
John comes in from work and we eat supper.
We pick up the toys in the living room with Ronni being a waitress the whole time.
We watch Wipeout on tv. (What? its a great show, really funny)
Kids to bed.

What a fabulous day!
