Handy Me

The night I got home from the trip with my students, John and I decided to try out some patterns on the bathroom floor....
walkway
area rug

Oh and now the bathtub is gone....
 <sigh>

...and the tile sits on the counter. We have bought a tub, toilet, faucets, and light fixtures. The tub will hopefully go in tomorrow. Then the rest of the walls, and subflooring, tile around the tub, paint the rest of the walls (wonder what color to go with), tile on the floor, toilet, countertop, backsplash, medicine cabinet (which needs to be painted), light fixtures, towel hangers, and then possibly the new shelves......Oh and I think I have a different idea for the floor tile......

With all of that, we made time on Saturday to make this puppet theater for church!
It turned out great!!

I love being married to a handy man!!

Garden Party: Chapter 3

Oh how the radishes have grown!
They are so cute!!
The sweet peas are growing crazy...I've seen little climbing tendrils. I can't wait to have yummy pea pods to eat.
Its so cool that beans poke out of the ground all bent over to protect the fragile leaves. Soon it will be a tall plant!

Best weekend ever...

.......well at least in the top 10.
We left around 2 on Friday for our second annual camping trip to the Kansas Relief Sale at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Great weather!! We were set up in record time and headed to the Plants and Things booth. I bought Juliet grape tomato plants, Roma plants, two Caladium plants, some creeping Jenny and other border plants. Then off to Feeding of the Multitude!
Aren't they so big?!?

We had hardly any line at all to stand in, then we sat upstairs for a different perspective.

After dinner, I volunteered at the Ten Thousand Villages booth....I had such a blast selling things!! I think I could definitely work there full time!

John David fell asleep no problem, but Ronni was still awake when I got back to the camper around 9:25.

In the morning we had pancakes and then went to buy some of the New Year's Cookies that John had made that morning. YUMMY! Off to the children's building and auction

Got home around 3:30..then a nap was had by all! so much fun!

                                                    Sunday = craziness
John decided that it was time to start remodeling our bathroom

The kiddos got to help too!

I hung clothes on the line, planted the tomato plants in the garden and made a flower garden in the front yard. What a great weekend!

Garden Party: Chapter 2

Its been just over a week and there are baby radishes!!!
Can you see them?! They are so cute!!!

I also planted some other plants the same day.
                                          Baby tomato seedlings poking out.
They are getting water everyday and plenty of sunshine.
They should grow even bigger next week!!

Garden Party: Chapter 1

postponed one week, but it was worth it! Beautiful weather, a little windy but fun.

We had yummy dirt dessert!

Planted snapdragons to take home, played on all the riding toys, opened presents, swung on the swings, petted Jake the dog,  took a walk in the woods and jumped on the trampoline.

Then out to the garden to plant peas, green beans, radishes and carrots.

They were well watered

We will wait for them to grow...
