Parent Teacher Conferences

I love my job. I think it, say it, write it, facebook it, tweet it, and sometimes shout it. Tonight was the third night in as many weeks of 5 to 8:30 conferences.

Parents of 7 students came to see me...most were "good" conferences. Meaning I told them that their students were doing well in class, that they had earned "good" grades. Two were "great" conferences. Meaning parents came in to talk to me because they check on their respective students' grades often and were concerned. We got to brainstorm ideas to help make their children better students, from time management, specific things to work on, and just some encouragement from all of us.One was a "awesome" conference. Meaning this parent had no clue how their student is doing in any of their classes, and needless to say, was Shocked! We discussed behaviors in class, work habits at home, possible fibs the student had been telling us both. We made a plan to help this student to be successful, not just in my class but in all their classes, and well.....LIFE.

All the conferences were appreciated by me. I want to be apart of the team that is shaping these teenagers. It is my passion, my joy, and my absolute honor. Thank you parents for caring about your children enough to take the time out of your busy lives to come and talk to adults who have your children's best interests at heart. Each and everyone of them is our future!
